Pipe Plug Selection Notes
This multi-size inflatable pipe plug covers a nominal pipe diameter range from 2.8 inches to 6 inches, which allows one plug to fit several pipe sizes within that range. When selecting this plug, verify the actual pipe diameter and compare it to the size range to confirm correct fit and seal. The NR-SBR rubber with Kevlar tire cording reinforcement supports inflation and strength. Confirm backpressure against the size-specific chart or manual for the selected pipe diameter, and keep that check separate from the specified inflation pressure.
Pipe Access And Setup Planning
Inflate to the specified inflation pressure and monitor it during use so the plug remains at the required setting. Use a protective sleeve when pipe conditions are rough or abrasive to reduce wear on the rubber during insertion and retrieval. Inflate the plug to the specified working pressure and maintain that pressure during use—these plugs are not designed to be left inflated and unattended for extended periods. Plan for blocking or bracing as outlined in the user manual to handle backpressure and prevent plug movement.
