This multi-size inflatable pipe plug covers nominal pipe diameters from 6 to 12 inches, allowing flexible fit across a range of pipe sizes without changing plugs. Confirm backpressure against the size-specific chart or manual for the selected pipe diameter, and keep that check separate from the specified inflation pressure. The plug’s NR-SBR rubber, reinforced with Kevlar tire cording, offers enhanced strength for high-performance blocking tasks. Verify that the rubber compound and construction suit the anticipated chemical exposure and temperature conditions during use.
Inflation And Blocking Planning
Before deployment, inspect the plug thoroughly for any cuts, abrasions, or damage to the rubber surface, as even minor damage can compromise inflation integrity. Use a protective sleeve when pipe surfaces are rough or contain debris to reduce abrasion during insertion and retrieval. Inflate the plug to the specified inflation pressure through the standard 1/4" male inflation fitting and monitor pressure regularly throughout use; the inflation pressure should be maintained during operation and not regularly monitored for extended durations. Plan for pipe-side blocking or bracing as outlined in the product’s user manual to control potential movement under pressure.
