The lightweight design suits shorter pipe runs commonly found in building and factory environments. From a selection standpoint, verify the pipe’s internal diameter and condition to match the 8-inch size precisely. The plug’s working pressure rating should be confirmed against the expected backpressure for the application since it is tested to three times its required inflation pressure.

Pipe Access And Setup Planning

Before installation, inspect the plug carefully for any damage such as cuts or abrasions that could affect sealing or cause failure during inflation. Use a protective sleeve if the pipe surface is rough or contains debris to prevent damage during insertion and retrieval. Inflate the plug to the specified pressure using a correct inflation device and monitor pressure regularly while it is deployed; maintaining inflation pressure is important since the plug should not be left inflated unattended for long periods. Plan for pipe bracing or blocking to resist backpressure as per the manufacturer's guidelines.

Generally, a pillow shaped pipe pipe plug can be inserted through an opening 1/3 the diameter of the pipe.
