Confirm backpressure against the size-specific chart or manual for the selected pipe diameter, and keep that check separate from the specified inflation pressure. The included 6-inch bypass port allows flow-through testing or controlled bypass during blocking operations. Verify the bypass connection and job flow requirements before specifying this plug.

Inflation And Blocking Planning

Before deployment, inspect the rubber bladder carefully for any cuts, abrasions, or damage that could affect inflation integrity. Use a protective sleeve when pipe conditions are abrasive or irregular, especially during insertion and retrieval. Inflate the plug to the specified working pressure and monitor inflation pressure regularly during use to maintain the seal and performance. This plug requires blocking or restraint planning per the user manual to manage the expected backpressure.

Generally, a pillow shaped pipe pipe plug can be inserted through an opening 1/3 the diameter of the pipe.

Does the 1" bypass have a threaded connection? We need to connect a pump to the bypass to fill the down stream section of a siphon line.

Yes, all our bypass plugs have a threaded flange for pipe or hose connections. It is standard NPT threading.
