Pipe Plug Selection Notes
This 10-inch single-size commercial inflatable pipe plug includes a 2-inch bypass connection, making it compatible for projects where flow-through or testing capability is required along with pipe blocking. Selection should verify compatibility with the nominal 10-inch pipe diameter and confirm that pipe condition allows correct seating of an inflatable rubber plug. The reinforced NR-SBR rubber with Kevlar cording supports pressure test values, so the expected backpressure must be checked against the rated working pressure for the size. The standard tire valve allows inflation with common equipment.
Setup And Use Planning Notes
Before use, inspect the plug’s rubber for any cuts, abrasions, or damage since compromised rubber may lead to failure under pressure. Use a protective sleeve if the pipe surface is irregular or abrasive to avoid damage during insertion and retrieval. Inflate the plug to the specified working pressure and monitor inflation pressure continuously during deployment, as these plugs should not be left inflated and unattended for long periods. Correct blocking or restraint should be planned according to the site procedure and plug instructions.
