The Sava 76769 Z4 is used for use in 4-inch nominal diameter pipes where a shorter inflatable plug is required, such as in building and factory applications. It is using NR-SBR rubber reinforced with Kevlar tire cording, which provides strength and resilience. When selecting this plug, confirm the pipe internal diameter is compatible with the plug’s 4" single-size design and verify the backpressure expected during use meets the manufacturer’s rated test pressure. This plug uses standard tire valves for inflation, allowing ease of inflation with common equipment.
Inflation And Blocking Planning
Before deployment, inspect the plug thoroughly for any cuts, abrasions, or rubber damage that could compromise its performance. Consider using a protective sleeve if the pipe surface is rough or irregular to reduce potential damage during insertion and retrieval. Inflate the plug to the specified inflation pressure and monitor it regularly throughout the work to maintain pressure; plugs of this type should not be left inflated and unattended for extended periods.
