The Greenlee H4802-5 60" Hydraulic Pole Tamper with Tube-Mounted Valve is a professional hydraulic compaction tool engineered for utility crews and construction professionals who need efficient tamping performance in the field. The tool is designed to quickly compact soil, asphalt patches, and general construction backfill, making it well suited for applications such as setting utility poles and packing fill around posts or foundations.

With a 60-inch overall length, the H4802-5 offers a balance of reach and maneuverability for working in pole holes, trenches, and other confined areas. The tamper includes a kidney-shaped foot measuring approximately 2.5 × 8 inches, which helps deliver consistent compaction around round poles and other structures.

The tool incorporates a tube-mounted valve with a rotating trigger spool, allowing the operator to control the tamper directly from the handle. This valve configuration enables the tool to operate on both open-center and closed-center hydraulic systems, providing flexibility when connecting to different hydraulic power sources used on job sites.

Engineered for durability and low maintenance, the H4802-5 features a simple internal construction with only three moving parts, helping improve reliability during heavy use. The tamper operates within a 4-6 GPM hydraulic flow range and 1,000-2,000 PSI operating pressure, producing up to 1,160 blows per minute at 5 GPM for effective compaction performance. Weighing approximately 22 lb, the tool provides a combination of power and portability for demanding utility and construction applications.
