The Sava 76767 Z3 is designed to fit nominal 3-inch pipe sizes, making pipe diameter the primary selection factor. It uses NR-SBR rubber reinforced with Kevlar tire cording, which supports strength and abrasion resistance during inflation and sealing. This model is test-designed at three times its working (inflation) pressure, so verifying expected backpressure for the job is important to confirm compatibility. Selection should also consider pipe condition, access space, and whether a lightweight inflatable plug suits the project format.
Inflation And Blocking Planning
Before use, inspect the plug carefully for cuts, abrasions, or other rubber damage, as these can cause failure even if not full thickness. The plug inflates through a standard tire valve and must be inflated to its specified pressure and continuously monitored during use rather than regularly monitored inflated. A protective sleeve may be necessary if the pipe surface is rough or abrasive. Plan for blocking or restraint according to the plug’s pressure rating and site procedure to prevent movement under backpressure.
