Recovering the Buoy
Hi Hunter,
Here are a few photos of us using the Pulse 8x out on the Ice pack in Barrow Alaska. We were searching for a lost scientific buoy that was designed to freeze into the ice and stay there over the winter. Because we deployed the buoy in the early part of the freeze up season, the buoy ended up getting pushed under the ice and stopped transmitting to the Satellites. With the use of the metal detector we were able to located the buoy about 16" under the ice. After 3 hours of chiseling, we freed up the buoy and it began communicating to the Satellites once again. It was a very successful trip and we couldn't have done it without the Pulse 8x detector!
Thanks,
Jim
