Convertible Lift bags

A convertible salvage bag is an underwater lift bag that can be used as either an enclosed lift bag or an open-bottom lift bag. Joint Zone convertible salvage bags are manufactured with removable cap or caps in the bottom of the bag. When the cap is left in place, the bag functions as an enclosed lift bag. When the cap is removed, the bag functions as an open-bottom lift bag.

This design gives operators more flexibility because they do not have to choose between an enclosed lift bag and an open-bottom lift bag for every application.

Joint Zone convertible salvage bags use a removable bottom cap system. With the cap installed, the bag can be used as an enclosed lift bag. When the cap is removed, the bag can be used as an open-bottom lift bag.

This allows one bag style to support different underwater lifting and flotation setups depending on the project.

All Joint Zone flotation bags are developed in accordance with IMCA D-016 standards. This includes Joint Zone convertible salvage bags, marine salvage pillows, pontoon style bags, open parachute bags, and closed parachute bags.

Joint Zone convertible salvage bags are made from EVA/PVC copolymer-coated polyester fabric. The material is high-strength, heavy-duty, flexible, lightweight, resistant to many chemicals, and highly UV resistant.

The fabric has a tensile strength of 8,000 N/5 cm, or 1,798 lbs/5 cm, and puncture resistance of 2,150 Newtons, or 483 pounds-force.

Yes. Joint Zone convertible salvage bags are made with EVA/PVC copolymer-coated polyester fabric that is very easy to repair with glue or hot air from a hairdryer. This repairability is one of the advantages of the material compared with materials coated with PU or TPU.

Joint Zone flotation bags are equipped with a 3/4-inch stainless steel ball valve and pressure relief valves. These valve features support underwater lifting and flotation operations.
